Cornwall’s natural assets, are, to be sure, unique within the United Kingdom. It boasts not only the most stunning and variegated coastline but also more of it than any other county – 250 miles’ worth. Put another way, in Cornwall you are never more than sixteen miles from the sea. Remote enough to have escaped the post-war development that swallowed the rest of the south coast, the shoreline here remains staunchly protected.

Like it or not, the country’s on a budget – and spending cuts are inevitable. Like it or not, more and more families are on a belt-tightening budget and holiday income is inevitably on a shoestring. The politicians insist we can make it through the austerity and holiday-makers in Cornwall can do the same – yet still have more fun then MPs swindling their expenses.
